What You Will Need To Draw a Duck

In order to complete this project, you’ll need the following equipment:

  • an HB graphite pencil
  • a 3B graphite pencil
  • an eraser
  • drawing paper

Step 1 : Draw The Duck Head

Sketch the rough shape of the duck's head with the HB pen. The lines are lighter to make it easier to change in the future.
Add a beak shape. The top is relatively long and narrow.

Step 2 : Draw The Duck Sturdy Body

Draw an elongated shape of the duck's sturdy body.

Step 3 : Draw The Duck Neck

Draw the core of the duck's neck that connects the head and body.

Step 4 : Draw The Duck Foot

Let's add a foot frame. The duck's legs are short and have three webbed toes. I make them up with small circles and lines.

Start with a foot closer to the viewer ...
 ... Then add another foot.

Step 5 : Sketch Outline Of The Duck

Sketch the outline of the bird's splash.

Step 6 : Refine The Duck

Let's refine Duck head and add some special features.
There is a small curvature at the top of the beak. Also, draw a nostril to darken the tip of the beak. The
th eye is relatively small. From the beak to the back of the head, a thin strip passes through the area of the eye. This feature is typical of women.

Step 7 : Outline The Duck Neck

Outline the duck's neck. This neck and body posture is also typical of swimming.

Step 8 : Refine The Duck Feet

refine the duck feet and give them thickness and volume. It is important to create a touch of mesh that connects the front toes, including the small back toes.
Edit the second leg in the same way.

Step 9 : Draw The Duck Layers

Duck feathers can look uneven, as if they were made up of layers or segments that were themselves embossed. Create a pattern that mimics a layer.
The lower part of the wing has been improved and a new element called a speculum has been added. It is an area of black or iridescent blue feathers outlined in white; both men and women have this quality. The speculum stands out during flight or rest, but is temporarily shed during the molting each summer. However, when you fold the wings, you may not see these bright wings.

Step 10 : Draw The Duck Wing Layers

refine the contours of the wing layers, creating an illusion of volume. Depending on a variety of factors, the wings may appear more fluffy or smooth; the patterns and colouring may also differ slightly.

By the way, all ducks have waterproof feathers!

 Step 11 :  Let's Contrast The Duck

The duck is predominantly mottled. Individual feathers frequently have a strong contrast ranging from dark yellow to very dark brown. Using the HB pencil, I imitate this pattern.
Also shade the eyes and leave a little highlight to create a drop shadow. The occipital region and crown are relatively dark. Remember the stripes near the eyes-it's also dark .
Increase drawing contrast by using a 3B pen to apply another hatch to dark areas.

 Step 12 : Let's Color The Duck

You may be wondering what the color of this duck will be. painted this sketch digitally to give an example.

As you can see, the color changes from beige, yellow, orange to dark brown.
